Great Ways to Maintain Good Health after Festivals

People would eat a lot of meat, high-fat foods and sweets etc. during holidays, and they may gain weight or get some health problems after festivals. In this condition, people may think about how to lose weight and maintain a healthy body.

If you want to change your habits and maintain a good health, here are some tips:

· Exercise! Find a sport you like, walk to your company, or ride a bike a few times per week.

· Drinking milk, including fat-free or low-fat milk. (Many people mistakenly think that milk has more calories than other drinks like soda. But a cup of skim milk has only 80 calories as well as protein and calcium. A can of soda has 150 calories of sugar and no other nutrients at all.)

· Eat a variety of foods, including plenty of vegetables — at least five servings a day together with fruits and veggies. (And unfortunately, potato chips don't count as veggies!)

· Drink plenty of water (at least four to six 8-ounce glasses a day).

· Eat lean, high-protein foods, like lean meat, chicken, fish, or beans.

· Eat whole grains (like whole-wheat bread or pasta), which provide fiber, B vitamins, and iron.

· Eat breakfast. Studies show that people who eat breakfast do better than others dontthey tend to eat less throughout the day, and few of them are likely to be overweight.

· Choose smaller portions at fast-food restaurants.

· Stay away from fad diets — you might lose a few pounds temporarily, but if you don't focus on changing your habits, you'll probably just gain it back when you go back to your usual way of eating.

· Don't take diet pills, even ones you get over the counter.

· Avoid seeing foods as "good" or "bad" or eliminating entire groups of foods, like dairy. If you eliminate entire food groups, you may miss out on important nutrients, like calcium.

· If you choose to become a vegetarian, talk to your doctor or dietitian about how to make nutritious vegetarian choices.

How Christmas Day Comes?

Christmas or Christmas Day is a holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity. It is traditionally celebrated on December 25 by most Western Christian churches. Although dating to probably as early as a.d. 200, the feast of Christmas did not become widespread until the Middle Ages. Aspects of celebration may include gift-giving, Christmas trees, display of Nativity sets, church attendance, the Father Christmas/Santa Claus myth, and family gatherings. The word Christmas is derived from Middle English Christemasse. It is a contraction meaning "Christ's mass". The name of the holiday is often shortened to Xmas because Roman letter "X" resembles the Greek letter X, an abbreviation for Christ.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.Diliver our sincerely blessing by a greeting card!

Psychological Cares to Recurrent Cancer

This kind of situation happens very often: when the treatment process of cancer is undergoing very smoothly or when the patient’s body condition is miraculously improved, cancer recurred suddenly. In response, many patients may doubt the treatments of their physicians or even think that this is a punishment given by God, thus give up their lives psychologically. When cancer is recurring, how patients adjust their mentalities?
In order to eliminate the fear of recurrence, patients should realize that the process of rehabilitation is not easy, which needs help from many aspects. Patients should keep a positive attitude when pinning their hope on the medical treatments, since a good mental state is very beneficial to control the recurrence of cancer.
You need to keep a few things by hearts as the followings if you are the patients:
1.Seek help from the people who can help around you. Make your families, friends, doctors and the nurses understand your emotional needs and anxious state of mind, since your strength and courage of fighting against the desperate disease is coming from their generous love and support.
2.Don't imagine recurrence to be the worst result. Please do keep a mind that fear and pain is temporary, and the troubles and despair it brings will also past.
3.Don’t regard recurrence as the failure of treatments, but an alarm that remind you to pay attention to the following points:
1)The problems of your primary tumor had not been fundamentally resolved. Please seek a further treatment from your doctor.
  2)You might need to relax.
3)Maybe you are too eager to achieve a successful treatment effect which results in psychological stress and the discomforts. Doctors may remind you to make some changes in the ways of life after your treatment, and these changes need time to be completed but you are too eager to achieve a good effect. Haste makes waste, make it step by step.
4)Did you relax your vigilance after receiving a period of effective cares? Some patients would give up the nursing principles that the doctors advised them to adhere after a period of effective cares, which may make the cancer recured.
5)Keep your health as a priority value. Don't do things that obstruct the treatment of cancer and prevent your condition from rehabilitation.
The aboves are only a part of the information about cancer recurrence, patients must actively cooperate with the medical treatment and explore their own psychological changes with the doctors together. In addition, patients need to carefully review their life and mood changes before the recurrence of cancer. To figure out what had happened, what kind of practice is different from that of the past, and the patient’s families and friends’ evaluation on them, which can be of great help to the check for the causes of recurrence and the adjustment of their own beliefs and ways of life.

Experts Answer Your Questions about Lung Cancer with a Wide Range of Information

Data shows that each year, there are 700 million people in the world would be killed by cancers, and among which, lung cancer occupies the prime location. About lung cancer, most people do not know it very much, but just have an idea that smoking causes lung cancer and the majority of lung cancer patients are male. But these are just plain information, and Director. Cao of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou would like to give a detailed introduction about lung cancer from the prevention, nursing to dietary, so people may know how to stay far away from lung cancer.
Lung Cancer
More than 80% of lung cancer cases are caused by smoking?
Director Cao says: more than 80% of lung cancer cases are caused by smoking. If you are a lifelong smoker, the probability of suffering lung cancer is about 15%, that is, there will be one person among every 6-7 smokers gets lung cancer, so it is really a high-risky disease with a very frightening proportion. Factors causing lung cancer are not only limited to smoking, as air pollution, stress, family factors may also be the causes of lung cancer.
What should be done when discover patients have already been in a feared status of mind?
Director Cao says: Many lung cancer patients or family members would fear the disease once they discover the existence of lung cancer. This situation is understandable; however, the fear is certainly useless for treatment, sometimes even harmful to it.
Psychologically speaking from patients’ respect, we must first get rid of the frightened psychological status, but to correctly treat the disease. In addition, in terms of the family members of patients, doctors shall try not to conceal the truths about patients’ condition, but now it also advocates letting patients know their own condition, of course, it is needless to tell them in details but just let them know what the disease that they are suffering are. With the improvement of people’s cultural level, the majority of patients can accept this disease and actively cooperate with treatment, so if they don’t know the disease, some patients may be unwilling to cooperate with treatment, leading to delays in treatment.
"30% on Treatment, the other 70% on Nursing Care”, is nursing care really so important?
Director Cao: lung cancer treatment is not just treatment techniques, but also includes body care, psychological care, family care, etc. After treatment, later nursing care treatment occupies an important position and also plays a role in promoting therapeutic effect. After lung cancer treatment, the patient's body is relatively weak with weak immune system, if without good physical care, it will lead to wound infection, and even other complications which would aggravate the progression of the disease. Psychological care is vital, and can be well managed through self-encouragement, self-regulation and support from their families to remain optimistic and positive attitude and establish firmly anticancer beliefs.
Lastly, Director Cao of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou reminds: people should be aware of the necessity of receiving annual physical checks, and twice for the elders each year, so as to timely detect diseases in case there is any. Developing good habits, eating less fried food, doing sports like exercising vital capacity, all these should start from the details of daily life and can prevent the occurrence of cancer.z

How to Turn Unbearable Cancer Pain into Pain Free?

Pain is one of the common symptoms for cancer patients, especially patients with middle and advanced stage of cancers, which not only brings physical torture and also make patient develop anxiety, irritability, depression and hopelessness, while the bad mood further aggravates the pain, forming a vicious circle. To let cancer patients survive with pain free has been being a target that medical study strives for. For many cancer patients, as long as they can do as the following, to achieve pain free is easier.
1. Early Detection and Early Treatment
Cancer pain are mostly caused by tumor growth or metastasis which directly invades or compresses sensory nerve of the surrounding tissues, therefore, to avoid cancer pain, the best way is to early detect and treat cancers, nipping it in the bud. Secondly, for those who still can't be diagnosed early or it is already in middle and advanced stage when found, the treatment for the cancer itself cannot be abandoned.
2 .Using medicine to relieve pain is mainly applicable to the cancer patients whose cancer cannot be treated or who still feel pain after treatment.
  3. Using Psychological Therapy to Relieve Patients' Mental Burden:
A research show that social discrimination, relatives’ disgust, psychological loneliness and other bad mood will make the pain worse while care, comfort and patient’s own optimism will help break the vicious circle, relieve pain. Therefore, besides patient’s families, friends and others should create a relaxed, warm atmosphere, the cancer patients themselves should also try to overcome loneliness, despair and other negative emotions, and actively participate in various community activities, do something in their power, because participation and dedication may help resolve physical pain.
  4. Combined Administration
According to patient’s condition, painkiller from different level can be combined to use (attention should be paid to that medicine in the same are generally not combined to apply), or painkiller can combine with auxiliary medicine that can enhance the analgesic action of the painkiller. A research shows that, the appropriate combined administration can significantly enhance the analgesic effect, retarding the upgrade time of painkiller.
  5. Other Indications:
  (1) Medicine such as morphine, fentanyl has significant effect of dilating the cerebral vascular, so generally patients with intracranial tumor are forbidden to use these medicine.
  (2) Long-term use of dihydroetorphine hydrochloride tablets can lead to significant psychological and physical dependence, so this cannot be used for regular treatment of cancer pain.
  (3) Opioid drugs can be used, instead of worry about drug addiction.
  (4) Slow release formulation with less side effect, convenient for using, and long action time should be choosed.
